Nishitetsu Kids Work Experience School

The program has been running since 2009 as a work experience program for elementary school students. At our Group facilities, students experience various occupations such as hotel patissier, aquarium keeper, train maintenance, and many others.

The 2022 event took place from September 23 to October 15 with a total of 32 classes and 97 groups of 194 students.

Interaction with local children

Bus offices and railway management stations actively accept local kindergarten and elementary school students for social studies tours, and junior high school and high school students for work experience.

Holding “Train School”

Nishitetsu Station Service Co., Ltd. holds “Train School” for kindergarten and elementary school children along the railroad line.

At Train School, the students deepened their safety awareness by learning how to buy tickets, the types and maximum speed of trains, and the barrier-free facilities at stations.

Holding bus classes in the community

Bus sales offices sponsor bus classes, mainly for local children. Using programs designed by the drivers themselves and teaching materials of their own making, Nishitetsu Bus explains to children the safety and environmental initiatives of Nishitetsu Bus in a way that is easy to understand, thereby communicating the social role of public transportation.

Asia-Pacific Children’s Conference in Fukuoka

We endorse and support the “Asia-Pacific Children’s Conference in Fukuoka,” a non-profit organization that supports international experiences for children.
In 2008, we established a fund for children from welfare institutions to participate in the Mission Project, a program in which children do homestays in countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Inviting children from child welfare institutions

Each year, we invite children from child welfare institutions in Fukuoka Prefecture to the Marine World Uminonakamichi and Kashiikaen.

Children’s Emergency Shelter

The Nishitetsu Group is engaged in Children’s Emergency Shelter initiatives in cooperation with the Fukuoka Prefecture Police in order to ensure the safety of children who seek shelter from crimes such as sexual assaults, kidnapping, and harassment. In addition to its railway stations and bus depots, shelters are offered at business sites, stores, and other facilities of the Group.
