Sustainable Management Policy

For the Group, sustainable management means “practice of corporate philosophy.” We believe that it means continuing to be a company that is of use to society and is trusted by society under our corporate philosophy, in other words, contributing to the sustainable development of local communities as a “good corporate citizen.”
In the course of our business activities, it means continuing to satisfy the expectations of our many stakeholders, including local communities, customers and employees, and we have provided for a code of conduct (rules) for the Group’s all employees in the “Nishitetsu Group’s Compliance Policy” and have also established policies respectively on the other important themes and have put them into practice in our business activities.

Sustainable Management Promotion Structure

The Group has established a “Compliance Policy” as a basic policy for sustainable management, which sets forth action guidelines in the Group, including “compliance with laws and regulations, social norms, etc.,” “provision of safe and reliable products and services” and “approaches toward environmental issues” and has also established policies on the other important themes, such as the “Nishitetsu Group’s Environmental Policy” and the “Nishitetsu Group’s Basic Policy on Safety” and has put them into practice in the course of business activities.
In addition, we have developed a structure for promoting sustainable management by establishing the ESG Promotion Committee which discusses on important policies and directions in sustainable management, such as “environmental measures,”  including climate change, which is one of the materiality issues of ESG, and assists the President Executive Officer in decision-making, as well as the Executive Committee and various committees.
The “ESG Promotion Committee” holds meetings chaired by the President and Chief Executive Officer and receives reports on activities related to sustainable management from committees, departments and companies to confirm the status of activities. If necessary, the Board of Directors receives reports on important matters discussed at the ESG Promotion Committee to ensure appropriate supervision.
