“Ensuring safety” is the highest priority for our Group. We believe that in order to earn the trust of our customers, local residents, and other stakeholders, and continue to exist in society, we must continue to ensure the safety of the products and services provided by our Group and continue our efforts to do so.
In the Nishitetsu Group Corporate Philosophy, our primary mission is to ensure safety.
Each of us must be aware of our responsibilities and roles, and be committed to fulfilling our social responsibilities by earning the trust of our customers.
(1) Build an organization and culture that prioritize safety above all else
(2) Establish and continuously improve the safety management system
(3) Improve employees’ abilities to support safety and ensure their health
(4) Provide products and services that put customer safety first
(5) Promote safety-related communication with customers
(6) Ensure implementation of measures based on the basic policy and compliance with laws and regulations
Based on the above policy, we are constantly striving to “ensure safety.”
The Nishitetsu Group Safety Management Committee, a cross-group organization, was established to deliberate and make decisions on matters related to safety in the Group in accordance with the basic policy, and to improve safety in all aspects of our business.
To implement the Committee’s deliberations and decisions, three subcommittees have been established (one for each of the fields of transportation, buildings, and food as subordinate organizations), across-organizational General Safety Subcommittee that functions across the three subcommittees, and ten expert committees under these subcommittees.

Since 2012, the Group has established “common themes” for the Safety Management Committee to address in
order to discuss themes that can be shared throughout the Group and to share awareness of safety.
Currently, under the common theme of “improving pride and satisfaction in one’s work and closing the gap between recognition and awareness of safety in the workplace,” each company and department is working to resolve this issue, reporting on the status of their efforts and exchanging opinions.
We will continue to implement this program to energize the entire Group’s initiatives.
The Nishitetsu Group Safety Promotion Convention is held annually to raise safety awareness among all employees. The November 2023 convention was attended by many distinguished guests and a total of approximately 400 people, including the president and representatives of each division and Group company. In addition, Dr. Yoshiyuki Shibata, Deputy Director of the Training Center for Occupational Health Practitioners at the University of Occupational and Environment Health, Japan, gave a lecture titled "Anxiety-Free Behavior Guidance Method Using Motivational Interviewing: What to do about 'I know, but I can't do it'" to raise safety awareness and improve the sharing of information about safety.
