The Nishitetsu Group respects the human rights of all people inside and outside the company. We will not engage in any business activities that may lead to discrimination or infringement of human rights of any kind. The Nishitetsu Group hereby establishes the Nishitetsu Group Human Rights Policy to respect the human rights of all persons related to our business activities.

1. Basic Concept

 

(1) Respect for human rights

The Nishitetsu Group respects human rights in all its business activities in accordance with international norms.

 

(2) Scope of application

This policy applies to all officers and employees of the Nishitetsu Group. We will also strive to ensure that our stakeholders understand and comply with this policy.

 

(3) Prohibition of discrimination

The Nishitetsu Group does not tolerate discrimination of any kind on the basis of race, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, nationality, social status, family origin, language, ethnicity, disease, appearance, marriage, disability, etc.

 

(4) Prohibition of harassment

The Nishitetsu Group does not tolerate harassment related to sexuality, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, or nursing care, power harassment, or any other behavior that is harmful to human rights.

 

(5) Remedies and corrections

The Nishitetsu Group strives to ensure that the human rights of all persons involved in its business activities are not violated, and in the event of a negative impact on human rights, the Nishitetsu Group will take prompt and appropriate action to remedy and correct the situation, including preventing recurrence, while protecting the privacy of the parties involved.

 

(6) Prohibition of child labor and forced labor

The Nishitetsu Group does not tolerate child labor, forced labor, or other unfair labor practices, whether direct or indirect.

 

(7) Respect for basic labor rights

The Nishitetsu Group complies with labor-related laws and regulations, and respects the fundamental rights of its employees.

 

2. Respect for Human Rights

 

(1) Education and training

The Nishitetsu Group will provide appropriate education and training to all officers and employees to ensure that this policy is understood and that the human rights of all people are respected. In addition, to fulfill our responsibility to respect human rights, we will engage in awareness-raising activities that deepen awareness and understanding of human rights issues, including the issue of discrimination and harassment.

 

(2) Human rights due diligence

To fulfill its responsibility to respect human rights, the Nishitetsu Group will continuously conduct human rights due diligence and strive to avoid, or reduce, negative impacts on human rights.

 

(3) Information disclosure

The Nishitetsu Group will disclose its efforts to respect human rights on its website and in other appropriate ways.

 

(4) Dialogue with stakeholders

The Nishitetsu Group will engage in dialogue with relevant stakeholders regarding the impact of its business activities on human rights.

 

(5) Pleasant work environment

The Nishitetsu Group will build a workplace environment in which employees can work safely, securely, and vigorously in good mental and physical health, and promote a harmonious work-life balance.

 

(6) Open workplace culture

The Nishitetsu Group shall respect diversity and strive to foster an open workplace culture. In addition, through active communication within the Nishitetsu Group, we will build a sense of unity and cooperative relationships.
