Nishitetsu Group Health Declaration

In September 2022, the Nishitetsu Group established the “Nishitetsu Group Health Declaration” based on the belief that the health of our employees is of utmost importance for putting our corporate philosophy into practice.

Nishitetsu Group Health Declaration

In order for the Nishitetsu Group to build on the “safety and security” that is the foundation of our business and to achieve sustainable growth and development together with the local community, it is of utmost importance that our employees, with their diverse abilities and personalities, can work in a healthy and energetic manner both physically and mentally.

The Nishitetsu Group hereby declares that it will support all employees by taking a high interest in their health and working to maintain and promote good health, and will strive to create a workplace where employees can work in a pleasant environment and are rewarded for their efforts.

September 2022

Based on the Nishitetsu Group Health Declaration, we will promote Health and Productivity Management® by establishing Nishitetsu’s promotion system, specific initiatives, and indicators (KPIs) related to health management.

Promotion System

The President & CEO is responsible for overseeing health management, and the executive officer in charge of human resources is responsible for promoting it.

Specific policies and the like are deliberated on and decided by the Executive Committee, which is composed of senior management, and the secretariat checks and reports on progress as appropriate under the supervision of the person in charge of promotion. We also collaborate with external organizations to create an effective system.

Specific Initiatives

1) Improving the rate of retests after physical examinations

If a physical examination determines that an employee needs to be retested, the cause of the problem must be identified and appropriate treatment provided.
By conducting thorough retests, we will protect the health of our employees through early detection and treatment of illnesses.

2) Motivating employees to quit smoking

Smoking increases health risks such as cerebral and cardiovascular disease. We will work to reduce smoking rates and associated health risks so that we can provide safe and reliable services to our customers.

3) Prevention, early detection, and treatment of stress-related diseases

Once employees are absent from work due to stress-related diseases, it tends to take a long time before they return to work. We strive for early detection and treatment of employees suffering mental illness, as it has a significant impact on their social and overall quality of life.

4) Improving opportunities for exercise, drinking habits, and eating habits

To review lifestyle habits and prevent the onset and severity of lifestyle-related diseases, exercise and good drinking and dietary habits are key, and we will work with employees to improve them.

5) Taking measures against infectious diseases

The spread of infectious diseases in the workplace can damage the health of many employees and cause significant inconvenience to customers. We will take measures against infectious diseases, taking into account our social responsibilities as a company engaged in railroad and bus operations.
