Our predecessor, Kyushu Electric Railway Company, was established in 1908 with a capital of 1 million yen, and started its transportation business as we know it today on June 5, 1911, covering 18.3 km from Higashi-Honmachi, Moji-ku, Kitakyushu-shi to Okuragawa, Yahatahigashi-ku, Kitakyushu-shi.

On September 22, 1942, in accordance with the policy of integrating transportation businesses to cope with the wartime regime, Kyushu Electric Railway, Kyushu Railway, Hakata Bay Railway Steamship, Fukuhaku Train, and Chikuzen Sangu Railway merged to form Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. The following year, from 1943 to 1944, the bus companies in Fukuoka Prefecture were integrated, establishing the business foundation that exists today.

Today, in addition to the Automotive Division, one of the largest in Japan, and the Railroad Division with the Tenjin-Omuta and Kaizuka Lines, the Company's concurrently operating divisions, including the international logistics, urban development, and housing businesses, continue to grow steadily. The overseas development business is also expanding aggressively.
